Practice Manager - Tom Brock-Hastings

Tom Brock-Hastings

Tom spends most of his time managing the practice and our wonderful team. As well as making sure everything is running smoothly, his other roles (to name just a few) include HR, finance, general maintenance and repairs, organising rotas and Health & Safety.
When asked what he particularly enjoys about his role, Tom says "Supporting and complimenting the great team we have. I like the diversity and challenges that arise almost daily, knowing I have done a good job and most importantly, helping patients."

Dr Victoria Blackburn 
MB, BS, (London 1993) DRCOG, DFFP

Victoria trained at UCL. She undertook house jobs in Gloucester and Bath before doing VTS training at Cheltenham and Gloucester Royal Hospitals. She completed her JCPTGP certificate in 1997, training at a Practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire. She undertook local locum work for 1 year before becoming a retainer, then GP Partner at her current Practice in Stonehouse, where she has been for 20 years.
She has also seen private patients at The Nuffield Hospital, Cheltenham, since 2009.
She has contributed regularly to BBC Radio Gloucestershire (2011-2015), and written for magazines.
She helped to set up a local Menstrual Disorder Service which ran successfully from 2005-2007. She was lead GP for Women’s Health and Maternity, working for the CCG from 2014-2015.
In her capacity as a private and NHS GP she is interested in all aspects of family health. She has a specialist interest in women’s health, (family planning and menopause), and weight management.

Dr Luke Benson

Luke studied Medicine at Nottingham University and graduated in 2008. He stayed in the area for his junior doctor years and completed his GP training in 2013. He moved to Gloucestershire shortly after.
Luke first started working at High Street Medical Centre in 2015. He has interests in Respiratory medicine and Men’s Health (having worked in respiratory medicine and urology during his training). He also holds the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine which focuses on medicine at altitude and in wilderness environments.
Luke’s wife is also a GP and they have 2 children. In his spare time he enjoys rugby and mountaineering. 

Dr D Haffenden 

Dr Deborah Haffenden
Deborah studied medicine at Bristol University, graduating in 1987. After a year working in New Zealand, she returned to the South West, initially training for a career in obstetrics & gynaecology, but decided to switch to the wider appeal of General Practice. She undertook her GP training year in Minchinhampton, then worked at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in paediatrics to broaden her experience.

She was a partner at Rowcroft Medical Centre from 1996 to 2016. She now works as an assistant here at High Street Medical Centre, and also sees private patients at The Nuffield Hospital in Cheltenham. Her main areas of interest are women's health and paediatrics.

She is married and has a mad springer spaniel.

 Practice Nursing Team

Nursing Team

 Our excellent team of Practices Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are available by appointment to dress wounds and ulcers, remove stitches, give injections, syringe ears and can perform ECGs and Cervical Smears. They are able to give general advice about many medical and health education topics and may be able to deal with straightforward or minor complaints. 

 Our Practice Nurses have special training and give detailed advice covering Respiratory Diseases (Asthma/COPD), Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease and Foreign Travel.

Reception Team

 Reception Team Our friendly team is here to provide a first point of contact and to help you with booking and cancelling appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions and any other general queries you may have. Team members are trained to assist you to navigate to the most suitable Clinician based on questions they are specifically requested to ask. 

Support Team

In addition to our other teams, we also have other essential staff working hard to support the smooth running of the practice. This includes medical secretaries, a records clerk, cleaners and management support.
